As an ILM and City & Guilds approved centre, the PMA is recognised as a provider of excellence in primary care workforce development. Having worked with many NHS organisations over the years, the PMA has successfully trained staff in most areas of primary care across the UK.
The PMA provide a wide selection of workshops, apprenticeship standards and diploma courses specifically for primary care staff in line with the recommendations set out in the General Practice Forward View (GPFV). Although GPFV has a strong focus on practice manager, receptionist and clerical staff training, there is still a long way to go to fulfil the aims set out in the plan.

The PMA have achieved the Skills for Health Quality Mark. This demonstrates the organisation’s training provision meets a nationally recognised quality benchmark. Skills for Health have fully endorsed our training delivery and verified the quality the PMA provide as a training provider.
The PMA are proud to announce achievement of the matrix Standard. The matrix Standard is a unique quality standard for organisations to assess and measure their advice and support services, which ultimately supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals. This is a hugely important milestone, bringing reassurances about the quality standards we provide you.
The PMA are delighted to have gained Direct Claim Status (DCS) from ILM. By granting DCS, ILM have acknowledged that the PMA have demonstrated best practice in quality assurance processes, in accordance with strict requirements for training and assessment. We are now able to award qualifications to delegates following our own rigorous internal assessment and verification process meaning that delegate results and certificates can be issued sooner that many other ILM centres.
