Salford Professional Development (SPD), a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Salford are working in partnership with the Practice Managers Association to offer complimentary places to their healthcare conferences to all members that work in the NHS.

This month SPD are offering PMA members complimentary places to their Healthcare Technology Conference on 23rd September and their Big Data In Healthcare Conference on 23rd October, taking place in Manchester.

The organisation recognises the importance of learner engagement and involvement in order to achieve good outcomes for learners [and all other stakeholders], stating ‘We have a “can do “attitude and drive to support people to do their best and perform to their potential. We make sure that people feel valued and appreciated for their contribution.’

Now in its third year, The Big Data in Healthcare Conference will provide a comprehensive and practical overview of current solutions, ambitions and projects across both private and public sectors – where the mutual aim is to improve clinical outcomes for patients. Topics to be discussed include ‘Revolutionising Data Models in NHS’, ‘Technological Solutions to the Barriers in Big Data’, ‘Ensuring Validity and Non-bias of Collected Data, ‘Creating Measurable Impact for Patients’, ‘Advantages and Limitations of Using AI in Healthcare’ and more.

The Healthcare Technology Conference will provide an insight into the challenges currently faced across the sector in terms of various aspects of technology. Subjects covered will include current overview of initiatives and projects across the NHS designed to deliver the goals of the Long Term Plan. It will also give attendees an opportunity to discuss non-technologically related barriers such as human behaviour, data protection and open access, as well as ethical concerns. The event will also feature inspirational case studies and success stories from NHS organisations at the forefront of digital transformation. Recently confirmed speakers for this conference include David Hodnett, Programme Delivery Lead – NHS App, NHS Digital and Henrietta Mbeah-Bankas, Digital Literacy Project Manager, Health Education England.

Salford Professional Development offers various training courses and conferences across multiple sectors for continued professional development, welcoming over 12,000 delegates a year.
