The PMA is a UK provider of leadership, management and practice management training all recognised by ILM and other ILM qualifications. PMA offers an education and workshop training programme focussed on Excellence in Practice Management.

The Dept for Educatuion has reinforced the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”

Promoting British values
The Practice Managers Association (PMA) is committed to serving its community. It recognises the multi-cultural, multi faith and ever-changing nature of the UK. It also understands the vital role it has in ensuring that groups or individuals within the PMA programme are not subjected to intimidation or radicalisation by those wishing to unduly, or illegally, influence them.

It follows equal opportunities guidance which guarantees that there will be no discrimination against any individual or group, regardless of faith, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, political or financial status, or similar. PMA is dedicated to preparing its learners beyond the formal examined curriculum and promotes and reinforces British Values to all its members .

The Government emphasises that all educational providers are required to ensure that key ‘British Values’ are upheld. The government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy. The five British Values are:

  • Democracy
  • The rule of law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect
  • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

Democracy:
We listen to everybody’s views – staff, trainers, facilitators and those of our learners and delegates. Our behaviour guidelines are clear, that all are expected to contribute and co- operate, always taking into account the views of others.

The Rule of Law:
PMA consistently reinforces the high expectations of facilitators, trainers and staff that our expectations (rules) are there to protect us, that everyone has a responsibility and that there are consequences when rules are broken.

Individual Liberty:
Within the PMA community through our events and our membership programme, all participants are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment.

Mutual Respect:
The PMA ethos and behaviour policy has revolved around Core Values such as ‘Respect’.

Tolerance of those of Different Faiths and Beliefs:
PMA) is committed to serving its multi-cultural, multi faith community and recognises the ever-changing nature of the UK. It also understands the vital role it has in ensuring that groups or individuals within the PMA programme are not subjected to intimidation.

It follows equal opportunities guidance which guarantees that there will be no discrimination against any individual or group, regardless of faith, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, political or financial status, or similar. PMA is dedicated to preparing its learners beyond the formal curriculum and promotes and reinforces British Values to all its members.
