Social prescribing is part of the new service model for personalised care outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan and integral to the changes in primary care and community-centered support. The expansion of the number of social prescribing link-workers creates a need for training, networking and support to ensure a highly competent, sustainable and agile team.
Although in its early development stages this is an exciting addition to the PMA online portfolio.
In a similar manner to the Level 3 advance certificate this will be a modular blended learning programme built around a number of core competencies such as relationship building, managing information and data and collaborative working.
These modules will be supported by specialised workshops exploring high level communication and interpersonal skills and face to face discussions with a nominated mentor.
More details to follow early in 2020.
