Social prescribing is part of the new service model for personalised care outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan and integral to the changes in primary care and community-centered support. The expansion of the number of social prescribing link workers creates a need for training, resources and support to ensure a highly competent, sustainable and agile team.
PCI accredited*, the programme includes 5 modules, each consisting of several units. Modules 1-3 can be completed online whereas modules 4 and 5 will have a blended-learning element.
For the e-learning components, each unit will take between 1 to 2 hours to complete meaning the e-learning part of the programme will involve approximately 25 – 30 hours of learning time.
For modules 4 and 5 there will be additional interactive components to complete.
Our aim is to provide information, support and clarity for those who are working in this evolving role and multi-agency environment.
* Accreditation demonstrates that a programme, whether it is face to face or eLearning, has met the high standards the PCI expects as the centre of excellence for evidence-based training in the Comprehensive Model of Personalised Care. Through setting quality standards and supporting the development of training programmes, we will assist the health and social care workforce to deliver personalised care to individuals, families, and communities.
